Miele w524 wont drain, check drain light flashing?

Hi, i have a miele w524 that showed the check drain light about 10 mins before end of cycle, i checked the filter and it was pretty full i cleaned and ran another cycle and the lights came on again so i then cleaned the hose and pipes/ubend leading from the machine, i read that i should run a drain only cycle with the filter out while watching to see if the pump was working, well i could see the little propeller spinning fast but no water seems to drain away, if its spinning does it mean its not faulty?
