Dryer makes a howling noise from inside the air inlet, the dryer is hanging on the wall.

Inside the air inlet grill is a fan attached to the motor. Maybe the fan is rubbing against something, maybe the exhaust outlet is blocked and cabinet needs a good clean out or maybe sound is coming from somewhere else like the bearing on the rear of drum. You will have to take it off the wall, take the back panel off and have a look inside.
