What causes a Philips chassis 32T800-7629 to shutdown after 15 seconds?
The Sencore HA2500 load test gave me 38 ma, 55% efficiency and 11.7ms pulse. No evidence of hot parts exist on the board. Yet 15 seconds after the set is turned on, the set shuts down.
I have checked for open, shorted, and leaking diodes, caps, and transistors. Lead five of the TEA1507P chip goes from about 4 khz to over 600 khz when checked with a Sencore 3100 scope in the frequency mode. All voltages on the chip seem to be within range.
I have a 32T800 7629 that is doing this same thing. I can find nothing wrong, and replaced the 10uf cap mentioned above, and adjusted the G2. No change. I'm thinking it could be a bad CRT. Until a couple of years ago, it looked fine. Then, it would shut down on a bright screen image. It got progressively worse over time, until the pic was turned down so dark that you could barely see it in daylight. Now, it shuts down everytime.

Replace the 10 uf@250 vdc capacitor on the crt board. Then turn the Screen voltage adjustment on the flyback transformer clockwise gently. The capacitor change caused the load reading on the Sencore HA2500 to go to 31 ma, 63% efficiency, and 11.8 us. Adjusting the flyback screen adjustment solved the on then off problem.
