Mend Numatic Henry Extra U Think Problem

what do u think the problem is?

hi, my henry extra just will not come on,there is a green on/off switch and a hi/lo switch.when you press hi/lo switch a red light comes on with more power and suction but when i turn the hoover on now, nothing but red light is on which shouldn,t be on till pressed. checked all wires n connections any ideas
