Issue resolved!

Bushes were worn and one was stuck down in it's holder.sourced a new set elsewhere, cheers for the tip regarding motor removal.

Back in 1984 my bro set up his thing in huddersfield town centre, he was shit hot with washers dryers etc,I helped him out until he got electrically certified because without that qualification he couldn't get liability insurance,and he didn't own a meggar or knew how to use one at the time.

I was a qualified electrician at the time,but have always been involved in the security industry,anyway to cut a long story short,I spent a lot of time there and Learned something new.

All that came into play (so I thought ), when our LG tromm refused to spin,"brushes i thought", turns out these don't have them.Now I didn't have a clue what the prob was now and had to get bro out who replaced the hall sensor.

Just goes to show if you are not a pro in any trade then technology leaves man behind :)

Space is ltd on them for removing the brushes,it's possible but theres always that chance of fitting the new set incorrectly,or damaging them on fitting,as you are working blind on one of the brushes due to the motors position.

Motor can only be accessed from under the washer on that
Model, it may not be the brushes Alarm ,but their worth checking.

10mm on these are well down compared with a new set, he could always stretch the spring on both brushes ,and see if it will spin up for a test perpose,but you are right matey it could be anything.

Why remove the motor the brushes can be taken out in situ.
And I doubt its them anyway. Unless they are really really worn, 10 mm is a years worth.
I know got sick of paying a mate and watched him. Now repair all my own appliances :D

Slight navigation problem here Ken, this is the Security/alarm section.But now you are here, and I know a little about these things.

If the machine is aborting on the spin cycle ,and you cannot select spin only,and you are sure the machine is draining the water from the drum, then remove the motor.

Remove and inspect the carbon brushes x2 from the motor and inspect for wear.

If they have worn down to 10mm or less then that's the problem,you can purchase a new set from:
