Mend Accenta G3 Security System Alarm

how can i stop my accenta g3 alarm from screeching?

I came home yesterday afternoon to find my alarm going off, for no reason as far as my neighbor and i could see(I live in an apartment block so there's no way anyone would get in without her knowing!). I punched in my code which deactivated the internal alarm, but the external bell was still screehing. I've had to turn off the power at the mains and if i turn i back n there is still this constant screech. Any ideas on how to stop it?

New battery.
Hence the reference to the search facility.

Also check the tampers (With a multi meter) and zone 8 (Possibly a Panic Button).

But I think a new battery will sort it.

Its not been services whilst we have been here, first house so didnt realise it even needed it to be honest! its been in about 5 years. Just given it a quick switch on, pannel buttons all light up, tamper light is on and zone 8 light.
Thanks for your help, have read the manual but can't make head nor tail of it!
