How do I fix the temperature display tape on my Neff oven U1562W0GB?

officially you cannot mend it and need to replace the little but expensive box about £60. To get to it is not particularly easy you have to remove the whole switch assembly and separate the switch from the carrier fit the new box and align the gears with the control knob gear so it zeros when off. Access to it is from the top of the oven with mains off! Cheers
