Mend Hoover TC650 Light Stops Running

Hoover tumble drier shows 'filter' light, and won't run?

My TC650 shows the 'filter care' light and stops running. The filter is clear. Sometimes it will run if I open the door and turn the drum and restart. The light then goes out. It may come on again after seconds or minutes of operation. I can feel and see evidence that the heater element is functioning. Does this light indicate another fault to check/rectify? Can anyone help?
