If your machine is a top loader remove the control panel on the top very gently by removing the three screws at the back . behind the water level control there is a little tube about 8/10 inches. It tells the machine when to cutoff the waterflow depending on the water levels you have set on the m/c. Put it back onto the the machine hopefully this should solve your problem.

Change the inlet valve for a new one. Return spring in old one is too weak to overcome water pressure.
