Can you adjust the hinge spring on the glass lid of a Beko DVG 697 gas cooker?

the hinges are not adjustable for tension.
If the lid will not stay up the hinges will need replacing. This in turn leads to the removal of the hinges, it can be very hard when the hinge has corroded inside the lid.
In extreme cases a new lid and hinges will be required
