remote and central locking problem?

hi guys just bought a 1998 mondeo zetec and no remote with it just the ingition key thats locks all the doors, but wont unlock the doors from the drivers side locks all the doors from the passenger side though, any ideas guys and how do go on about buying a remote for it...cheers chris
