Mend Fisher & Paykel 603/5 Part Come Off

is the impeller a fixed part of the rotor or does it come off?

Re: the Fisher Pakel 603/5 two drawer dishwasher. We took the rotor out and the blue impeller part just falls off. Is it broken or is it always like this? I am trying to determine if I need to replace the rotor.

The blue impellor is definitely fixed tightly to the shaft. This impellor is for the wash cycle and is also used to determine water level when filling. Any slippage can cause tub to fill too deep and flood. Replace the wash rotor with a new one.

The impeller should be permanently fixed to the shaft,

if the impeller is spinning on the shaft then it kind of defeats the pumps objective.

Easy way to check, put it in place put slight force on impeller. turn motor, if impeller turns its ok. could be driven by splines or something inside it. Also if you have a look for a replacement motor, if it shows it with impeller, probably fixed type.
