series link gone?

One day i had the choice of recording one program or recording the hole series, now I press record and it goes
down onto list with no choice at all.
model thomson D.V.3 160.
Also I have to reboot it, sometimes twice in one evening.I really need to get this need to get this sorted as I don,t want to get a different one.
