We had a similar problem. The suppressor needed replacing.

If its an old tumble dryer and a new-ish fuse board or the circuit is protected by an RCD..these are very sensitive and will pick up any slight fault in milli seconds..unplug dryer to make sure curcuit is ok.
If the fuseboard is ok when the dryer is not plugged in then,definately a faulty dryer

could be couple of things but i will start by isolating heater element,after that disconnect motor or look for any open wires touching each other or against body.
