high part of tri shape should be towards outside of machine and when you put littlle screw back the outer knob should be able to turn loose slightly before locking against screw if not take it off and turn tri shape one notch on.replace and try again.good luck and happy new year!!

All you can do is keep trying, fiddly things to do, But just keep at it, try taking it off again, put to one side, go and have a drink. then try again.
