pressure switches are either one,two ,or three level so you will hear either one ,two ,or three clicks,just thought I would clarify that ck :-)when I worked for hoover ,the 3rd level wasa flood control ,but it only worked if the door was shut and the plug was in the mains socket,if the valves drip fed upto a certain level,the pump cut in

also check the pressure chamber for blockage and the inlet hose to the chamber too,they tend to get clogged up with soap and stuff,just make sure you remove the plug from the maims power supply before working on the machine

very gently blow in to it and it should click several times.this proves mechanically it works but you would need a multimeter on the terminals to make sure they switch when you hear it click
