must admit when i wired it back up it did trip the fuse do you know the sequence of the colours there is a plug with two thin black wires and a plug with three thicker wires i cant remember the colours i have parceled the whole lot up do you think i have blown the thermostat i get a reading from the one with the two blue wires but no reading from the one with two red wires this is the same as the old one i took off
have checked my wiring there are two plugs coming out of casing a triple with a green and i think a grey and an orange wire then there is a double plug with two skinny black wires i have the red and the orange and grey going to the sensors and the black skinny two going to the heaters i think you are saying this is the wrong way round? also have you heard of the front sensor behind the control panel i dont get a reading from this one and i dont get a reading from the one furthest from the heater element regards iain

I know by looking at them but I don't know the colours BUT they must go the right way around.1 is a stat normally closed which has the thicker wires.this sounds like the one you are testing and getting a reading from which is good.the other one on the element is a sensor and changes resistance with the heat.I'm sure if you prise the connector block out the back of the dryer carefully you will see the thinner wires.these must go to the sensor on the heater with the thinner wires if that makes sense!!
