Mend Heat Surge Work Low Second

Heat Surge will only work on low temperature. ?

My heat surge will only work on low temperature. If I try to put the high temperature on, it may work for a second or so and then it shuts the whole unit down. I'm not sure if the answer is already on the answer page or not because I have no idea about electronics. I bought this in 2009.
