cannot get any buttons to light on control panel other than cancel to work?

I have a kitchenaid superba dishwasher model kuds01ilwh1 which I haven't used for 3-4 months while I've been at cottage. I tried to get it to wash a load tonight but could not get any of the front touch buttons to light. The Energy Saver Dry button will however light if I hold it for 4 seconds and go out if I hold it another 4 seconds and the "cancel" button will initiate a 2 min. drain but that is all. I have tried to unplug the unit and wait a minute and plug it back in to try to reset but still nothing. Any suggestions. Thank you
