my gardtec 300/500 series alarm has suddenly shut down, is there a reset?

on the display panel there is a small led indicator which is lit but the rest of the display etc. is completely blank. the 2amp fuse adjacent to the panel is ok.

remove all power. re-apply.
whilst '88' is displayed (for 8 seconds) press 4, 6, yes, no
This will restore all defaults.
Takes about 1 minute.
