Mend Snapper 283707 Spark Plug

12 hp snapper mower (model-283707) (type-0136-01)?

My spark plug wire keeps jumping off. I tried hand clamping
it with pliers with no luck. So! i put a clamp around it to
hold it on. The first time i tried to start it up it cranked
up put it in gear it went about 15 ft. Then it started spitting
and sputtering and went dead. It started back put in gear
again went dead. The engine started smoking went dead
again and would not crank no more.

It's getting fire to the plug but if it's in the plug wire where do i need to go to replace it. Or, is their any other ideas i can do?
