how to fix a manual sunroof of a nissan micra inspiration?

Hi, the sunroof seems stuck, the manual 'stick'/turn-thingy, can not be turned more than 2 twice when attampting to close it, hence, it is open wide and covered with plastic+tape. Is it a cable that is torn, is it poss for me(or husband to repair/replace? Thanks!
