Mend Nissan Micra Engine

nissan micra?

engine will start and run for approx 5 seconds then stops. When the ignition is turned on a whirring sound comes from below left bulk head for a couple of seconds dont know if this is relevent.
Suggestions please.

How old is the car? Your fuel pump may be the problem. Located in the fuel tank under the rear seat - requires removal of rear seat to access it. The fuel pumps on Micras are known for this.
