Hi. nissa micra 2003. disconected the battery to charge it. replaced battery car wouldnt start grrr. took it to Evans Halshaw for diagnostic test £75. They said it needed a combi meter £500+ to fix it.

What in heavens name is a Combi Meter? rip of or what

i had the same problem the tail lights and instriment illumination were not working after installing a cd player, my mistake was to cut off the nissan plug and hardwire the new stereo to the car using a multimeter to find ground, power, switched and speakers. i used a yellow wire on the car side as a ground for the stereo,this worked fine until the car was used at night then to find that the tail lights or speedo lights wernt working, i checked all the fuses inside the car and couldnt find any issues, it wasnt untill i checked under the bonnet to find that the tail light fuse 10A had blown. so before replacing the fuse i disconnected the radio from the yellow wire (car side) acting as my ground and made a new ground from the cassis, i then replaced the fuse and hey presto. fixed

You might have replaced stop light bulbs with single filament bulbs? which are not proper brake light bulbs. use only double filament bulbs according to the specifications.

I've got an 02 k11 micra. I've noticed that the front right indicator light is not working and when I press the stalk the light flashes rapidly. I opened the bonnet and there is a loose connector close to where the lights circuit is. I can't find where to put the loose connection into. Is it a bulb or a loose connection?

How do I fix my Nissan almera lights problem?

When I have no lights turned on, my three brake lights work as they should. When I turn the side lights on or even main headlights on, all the brake lights stay on. Pressing the brake pedal does nothing. Also when there are no lights on and I press the break pedal the console that shows the speedo etc lights up. Any help would be gratefully received. This now means that I cannot drive in the dark because the break lights are on all the time and givesthe driver behind no warning of me stopping

Hi I have a similar problem, my backlights dont turn on and also the lights in the dashboard are dead, I have checked all the fuses and they seem to be alright, I've been told that there might be some broken circuits, but I have no idea where to start to look!

Any ideas?

my head lights are not working although the full beam light on the dash board is on and my side lights do work. Any ideas. I have checked the fuse and bulbs.

i have the exact same problem, when i press the breaks, the dash lights and head lights come on,
i no it has a short but what is a short is it a break in the wire? also i have been having problems for about 6 months with my ignition, you have to turn the key fully, then turn it back slightly to get it started, now the car wont start at all, and has to be bumped to get it going, but if my NATS was playing up would the car still bump and drive? ps its a r reg nissan micra, any help would be really appreciated, thanks

I've an 03 Nissan Micra & both main brake lights don't come on but the brake light in the rear window does.

I think the bulbs look OK.

You have the wrong break lights installed.

The nissan micra break light bulbs should be "12V, 5W" with TWO filaments inside. One filament acting as with your dimmer/head lights and the other acting as your break light. These should go at the top of your tail lights units.

What you currently have installed are probably single filamemnt bulbs (most probably "12V, 12W") which should be used as your indicator bulbs or your reverse light bulbs.

Halfords sell the bulbs you require and can even install them for you. With the total cost being about £3.00!!

Had to change a stop light bulb in my daughter's 1995 Nissan Micra recently using a Ring-P21/5w.Then she noticed that when she braked the headlights flashed on. Seemes to have been a fault with the new bulb, have swapped it for a Phillips which matches the other side and this has solved the problem.

Hi.
It's sounds like you have a short between the lights and the brakes. You will probably find that not only do the dash lights come on when you brake, but your headlights flash too. The best place to start would be where there are common areas that the two systems come into close contact, such as the rear light clusters. I can't tell you exactly where to look but you will have to check along the cable runs and controls until you find this short.
