Mend Nissan K11 Steering Power Engine

why does my nissan micra screach on full steering lock ?

i have a micra 1lt 16v v reg 2000 with power assisted steering. when the engine is running and the steering wheel is turned fully, there is a loud screach from engine area. does something need adjustment or do i need to replace belts ? please help

sounds like the drive belt has gone hard with age, fitting a new belt should cure the problem.
