Hotpoint EW86X fault?

Hi, I have a Hotpoint EW86X cooker fault. All functions fine except the main oven light and fan are permanently switched on even if the main oven is not in use. If the cooker is switched off at the mains (to avoid listening to the fan and burning the light) then at switch on the controller/timer unit makes a rattling noise (possibly miniature relay contacts?). One press of the manual button and the noise clears. Very odd!

Any advice appreciated.
