how can i fix my hoover vc9340s-6?

my hoover isnt picking up so i think the fan belt has snapped. Ive lost the instructions and im having trouble trying to get the cover off so i can get into it to change the fanbelt. Ive removed the four screws but it still wont come off is there anything else i have to do
