Jammed?

Have Lervia KH4000. Been working fine for long time.
Appears to have jammed. When turning wheel to raise or lower needle,only moves about half inch either way.
Anybody help.

the machine has been in a closet for 20 yrs and before it was oiled some one turned it on and i can get it to work

first thing to do is remove spool and holder etc, they are main reasons for jamming, check for bits of thread, clean out and check if it is free. If not, problem with gears, again could be just some thread stuck in, but if you do not feel capable take it to get repaired.
