Mend Morphy Richards Jet Stream Elite

Morphy Richards Jet Strem Elite?

The base appears fine, green light on, but when I hit the steam button, instead of it steaming, water just trickles down the iron. The plate of the iron doesnt seem as hot as usual and the red light on the iron itself isnt lighting up?? Any ideas what could be wrong? Thankyou
