How can I fix my Elna Supermatic 722010?

My Elna Supermatic was so packed full of lint, old oil, etc. We cleaned and cleaned. We ordered and replaced the friction wheel (it had a flat spot on it and made a terrable noise. That part went well and the noise stopped. I hadn't had much of an opportunity to try to sew with it for fear something would get torn up because of the noise it was makeing. Now it will not pick up the bobbin thread and it will not loop the top thread either. I have tried different thread, needles (truned them around also), bobbins. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

wants to run all the time when cord is plugged in one way and then if you plug the cord in the other way the light will come on but it wont run the machine.

not so easy to tell problem over net,first check both tensions , then to see if timing is in. install bobbin in case and hang case down while holding thread,slight tension must be felt if thread is moved(pulled). top tension after threading and press foot down, pull thread,needle must bent slightly if tension set to 4.to check timing,needle on upward stroke, eye of needle in centre of hook point hope it will help
