How can I fix my Elna Supermatic 722010?

My Elna Supermatic was so packed full of lint, old oil, etc. We cleaned and cleaned. We ordered and replaced the friction wheel (it had a flat spot on it and made a terrable noise. That part went well and the noise stopped. I hadn't had much of an opportunity to try to sew with it for fear something would get torn up because of the noise it was makeing. Now it will not pick up the bobbin thread and it will not loop the top thread either. I have tried different thread, needles (truned them around also), bobbins. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
