mercedes vito will not start when hot, fine when cold?

Mercedes vito 112 cdi 52 reg, will not start when hot, have to wait for engine to cool. temperature gauge has to drop below the zero on 80 before the engine will restart, any ideals pleases ?

very difficult to say what is wrong,have you had a code reader onto it?don`t like guessing as it can cost a lot of money,would start by making sure filters are ok and renew if in doubt
