Mend Glow Worm Swift Flow 80 Pressure Heating Relief Valve

Over pressure in Glow Worm Swift Flow 80 Boiler - dangerous??

I have a Glow Worm Swift Flow 80 Boiler. It is over pressurising itself to 4 bar when on for just a few minutes. When switched off pressure drop to about 2 bar (although I only pressurised it to 1 bar after I bled rads). There's no air in them now. There's quite a bit of water coming out of the pressure relief overflow.
Is this dangerous? How can I get system to run at correct pressure please?

Hi Pete, thanks for the response. This sounds like expert attention needed. If all these things are faulty - are they fixable. I can't afford a new boiler right now!

P.S. You should also check your pressure reducing valve to make sure it is letting in the proper amount of water to your system.

Yes, it is dangerous. Is your pressure relief valve rated for 30 lbs.? You should check your expansion tank to make sure it's diaphram is not ruptured and it has the proper pre-charge on it. You should also check your circulator pump to make sure it is running and circulating the water properly. Hope this helps. Good luck.
