How do I fix my Indesit automatic washing machine model WN1061WO?

There seems to be no power in the motor. During the wash it sort of jerks as if trying to turn the drum. The worst is when it comes for the spin. It spins in jerks (on and off), The timer would be still on but the motor would not go. I have replaced the carbon brushes but to no avail. Could it be the water inlet valve? as I have noticed recently that even though the machine is switched off, water still leaks through it.
