why is the steam not working?

I have a Russell Hobbs Steam Glider 2200, even though water holder is full and heat working OK and button for steam is green there is no steam is being produced

I had the same problem with my Home-Tek 824, and after carefully pulling out the base plate (removal of 6 securing screws first) and pushing in the mains cable at the same time, I found that one of the water PIPES had become detached.
