Mend Starter Recoil Engine

How can I fix?

Starter wont recoil for B & S engine on my Toro #20331,how do I get the string to recoil to start engine

Sounds like the spring has broken, or that it's dirty and can't re-coil.
It should come off by undoing the bolts/ screws that hold it on, then you can inspect it further.
If the spring is gone, best to get it fitted by someone who knows what they are doing, otherwise it won't work properly.
