Mend Brake Car Garage

hand brake not holding?

Hi just got my first car but the hand brake is not holding on a hill. I have had new rear brake pads fitted today by garage that i bought it from but still problem with it any advise please

Mark either maladjustment of brakes eg parking brake lever and linkages not returned to rest.eg pads fitted without handbrake adjustment being removed.or your calipers are knackered,but also depends on vehicle,eg volvos have an allen key adjuster which needs to be set correctly.
