"Shotgun" cable is more commonly used to provide dual inputs for Satellite based PVRs e.g. Sky plus, because they need two feeds in order that one can watch one channel whilst recording second.

In that case, both cables will be carrying a signal from the Dish's LNB and so you can attach to either.

that twin cable might be Rg6 w106 or "Shotgun "coax, as far as i know and i could be wrong, and im sure somebody will tell me that i am. but its used for DVB and terrestrial tv signals, comming from the same mast, it just keeps the cable run neat" have the two of them on the same run, if the cut off point is not near your tv, your going to have add on more coax to reach your tv, so you will need ( F Connectors) for that job, i would test that twin coax first to see if that dish is working first, get 2 (F connectors) and put one in each cable, then try them in the sky box, to find the one comming from the dish, you will know if the dish is working when you get your channells in or not, after you have tested each cable, then you can add on longer cable with more F connectors, and connector blocks to reach your tv,,
