Mend Glow-worm 100e Water Working Fine

Glow-worm 100e....trouble getting hot water!!?

heating is working fine but only getting hot water when greatly restricting flow AT the tap.

we found out gas valve appears not to be responding correctly??

& now we are told problem could be controll board!!

do we need to buy both components or can we pin the problem down to one part & how would we go about this??
