Changing a plug on my Henry vac?

My henry has recently died due to over-zealous tugging around the plug. I wanted to change the plug but when I cut the wire back, I found only a blue wire and a brown wire inside the black cable...

In the new plug i bought there is space for three wires to be attached, I am assuming one is the ground wire which is pretty important, no?

I am very clueless about all of this and would lika any advise on what to next, in the simplest layman terms possible please!

Thank you so much

Dee :)

Henry is already double insulates as it is plastic so no need for earth wire. Wire up as normal ignoring the earth.

Cut at least 6" of cable away with the plug

As the Henry is all pastic it does not need to have an earth wire, or ground as you call it. All you ned to do is attach the blue wire to negative and the brown to the positive, inside the plug and it should work. However please be advised that the fault may not be in your plug at all and you may have to replace the wire itself. Good luck and I hope this helps.
