how can i fix vauxhall vectra 52 plate?

i have a leak my front passenger carpets get wet when i wash my car. ive lifted the bonnetand where the windscreen wipers are theres a flap that lifts up and theres a big hole where it looks like something is missing also at the back of the gap theres what blooks like the heating fan any ideas of what should be in place where the hole is.

There is supposed to be a filter in there. Go to your main dealer and ask for a pollen filter for it.

Also, there is a drain hole under where to filter fits which will be blocked up with leaves and crud. Clean it out - There's one at the drivers side too.
