The screen on my HP IPAQ 1710's screen has frozen. ?

How do I fix my HP IPAQ 1710 pda? The screen has frozen and I have tried re-booting but nothing happens. I'm ready to bin it. My insurance company had only just paid to have the thing rebuilt (against my wishes - they could have replaced it with a new model for $30 more)
