Mend Stirella Simac Iron

How can I fix my Stirella Simac iron?

My Stirella simac iron has stopped producing steam - or produces very little, if any at all. This occurred after it used to produced too much steam and wouldn't stop and then would suddenly return to correct function. Any suggestions?

Looks like a common fault as exactly the same thing has happened to mine - water and soleplate heat up but nothing happens when you press the steam button!

That's really strange because I am having exactly the same problem with mine.
Have you been able to clean yours during the time you have had it? Most of the new ones seem to have instructions for cleaning them out. Mine doesn't, and I have been thinking that maybe it's clogged up with limescale..... even though I am in a soft water area.
