how can i fix my e40 zanussi washing machine problem ?

replace the door lock as E40 is a fault code for it HOWEVER sometimes when the door locks fail they blow the main pcb but without trying a new door lock it is difficult to say if the main pcb is good or bad!
when you shut the door and press start does the door lock click several times?.If it does the HOPEFULLY the main pcb is OK.If it doesn't click several times assume the pcb might of blown
