Flashing door locked light ,but machine wont work !?

Hi,we have a Hotpoint Aquarius 1400 washing machine but for some strange reason it just stopped working & the only fault showing is the`door locked`light ! Have tried opening & closing the door & resetting but doesnt make any difference (electric/water ok) the model is a WF 541P about 3 years old ,any ideas ?
