how do i bleed my diesel system?

hi fellas,

my 98 ldv cub has just ran out of fuel, i have put a gallon in from a can, but know it wont start to easily. does anyoune know the procedure to follow?

would maybe remove the fuel filter and fill it manually,refit and open up some injector pipes to get fuel up to them whilst cranking,shut them off and give it a go
