merc sprinter?

i have a second hand sprinter 04 2148cc 68000 miles with electronic auto box. It is lumpy when it changes up and will not stay in 4th as it goes back into 3rd.

Has it got a control unit or has it had it. If so where is the control unit or can i just do a gearbox change with out having to change any electronics

contact a member of www.fedauto.co.uk The description you gave would need further investigation. Not sure what the other post is on about especially as it didn't fix it. The pump is in the gearbox. Some Sprinter D.L.C.s are under the seat.

Hi had simerlar prob few yrs ago, turned out to be the hyd pump/motor, get your to merc and have the fault codes read on the star machine, if it is the hyd pump/motor get them to check the pump/motor control, located under the drivers seat, as it was the control that had failed causing the motor to burn out, but dealer only changed motor/pump and three weeks later it happened again.
