how can i fix a faulty electric fire?

how can i fix or test that the thermostat is faulty on my dimplex dls20 electric fire? it keeps cutting the heat off even when the room isnt at warm temp? the thermo stat is set to full? any help greatly appreciated

run fire and look up into elements,are they glowing if so the fan is faulty.Otherwise put stat halfway round wait for heat to cut off then turn it fully up if nothing happens its the cut out which is built into element.what ever the cause the whole canopy is one part and it costs about 80 quid
