how do I change a timer on an amana lwm433w washer?

My washer takes a long time to go from the wash cycle to the to the drain cycle. I have to open the door then drop it for the drain cycle to start. This also happens from the rinse cycle to the spin cycle.
I think the timer is the problem. Is it an easy fix?
