humming or rubbing noise from engine bay?

i have a cavalier 1.8i colorado 1993 and it has a humming or rubbing noise or catcing noise just cant put my finger on it. any ideas? it comming from engine bay but dont know where? noise seems to stay same when standing and driving help.

after removing alternator belt, and if noise is still there, remove timing belt cover and check water pump, look for scuffs on cover. is noise more noticeable when cover removed ?.

you could remove the fan belt and if the noise is away it could help point you in the right direction
