Mend Volkswagen Golf Warning Light VW Engine

warning light!?

a warning light has appeared on my dash panel. VW Golf 2001, 1.4. It looks like an engine with a lightning bolt going through it. Can you help please?

Volkswagen Volkswagen Golf Vehicles, Cars Warning Light VW Golf Engine

I'll tell you what, get used to it. My light has come on around 20 times and its cost me a fortune at VW. I'd guess around 4000 quid in five years. No joke. I've been told by VW that light can be the product of 19 different faults.

Hi Ash the warning light means the engine management computer has detected a fault you will need to have a diagnostic computer pluged in and the fault code fixed then the light can be switched off
